Malpack Invests in its 2nd W&H Cast Stretch Film Line

Malpack Ltd. (“Malpack”) has announced the purchase of a second cast film line from Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corp. (“W&H”) of Germany. The line is scheduled to be delivered in Q1 of 2018 with final installation to be completed early in Q2 2018.

This multi-layer cast film line will be the largest line Malpack has installed up to this point. It is a 9-up 20” line that will add over 40 million pounds of capacity annually. It will be capable of producing stretch film for machine and hand film applications in thicknesses ranging from 30 ga. to 80 ga. (7.6 to 20 micron).

Malpack’s focus with this new technology will be to enhance their Ultra High-Performance Axis and Platinum Max machine films. This W&H line is designed to use advanced resins and integrate their Smart Layer extrusion technology and processes to further enhance their films’ performance.
